It's official! We are missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving as Service Missionaries at Heber Valley Camp. A camp for young women and families to come and experience amazing opportunities in the beautiful mountains of Heber City, Utah. We have set up this blog to serve as our journal and also as a forum to share all our incredible experiences with you! We hope that you will be able to enjoy our mission right along with us and please feel free to share your thoughts or feelings as well.
We were set apart on Sunday, April 10, 2016 by our Bishop, Bishop Robert Moore, of the Sunset Heights 2nd Ward. Our blessings were exactly what we needed and we were promised blessings of health and strength, along with many other things that were much appreciated and helped to ease our minds.
This first week has primarily been a time for all the missionaries to set up house. There are 78 missionary couples serving here this year! Elder and Sister Pulsipher(or better known to us as Stace and Paula; however, we can't call them that now on the mission and we are finding it very challenging!) were very kind to come and pick up our 5th wheel from our house in Orem and pull it up to 'cowboy village' (an rv park in Heber for cowboys who come to town to rodeo). We will be here through the end of this next week and then all the trailers will be hauled up to the top of the mountain, weather permitting, of course. The weather has been pretty 'icky' this week--lots of wind, some rain, a little sleet and snow, and cold. We are looking forward to the better weather that has been predicted for this upcoming week. Despite the weather, we are very cozy and warm in our new little home! We are so grateful to have this nice rv we were able to purchase from some good friends from Logandale, Ron and Erlene Marshall. So glad that our good neighbor, Gary Marshall, mentioned that Ron was selling it! We have made a few changes and updated it a bit and it is working wonderfully! Of course, there are some challenges with sleeping and showering that we are needing to adjust to, but, all in due time. We were so blessed to get this and we believe that the tender mercies of the Lord are very evident in so many ways! We recognize them on a daily basis and thank him often! We have been involved in a couple service projects this week, a few socials to get to know the other missionaries, and on Friday, we had our interview with Brother Kent Hatch, Brother Whimpey, and Brother Riddle. Brother Whimpey mentioned in our interview that they have learned, in the time they have been serving in these callings, that there are NO coincidences and that it was their testimony that we have been called for a specific reason and purpose at this very time. We definitely agree as we have seen the Lord guiding us all along the way. They will determine what the assignments will be for all the missionaries and then let us know at the end of this week. We are anxious to learn and excited to serve!

We had our very first visitor and you will never guess who it was?!! My brother, Kale! We were so excited and had a very nice visit. He was passing through on his way to Rangely to spend some time with Tylan, his son, who is staying with Shane, Paulene, and Kaulen for a few months.
